Title : 5-Year Follow-Up of Bone Augmentation with Titanium-Reinforced PTFE Membrane in the Maxillary Lateral Incisor
Abstract : This report describes the management of a young female patient with bilateral congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors and severe horizontal labial bone deficiency. A staged approach was adopted:
Horizontal bone augmentation using a mixture of inorganic bovine bone matrix (Bio-Oss®) and autogenous bone, covered with a titanium-reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (d-PTFE).
Implant placement with surgical guidance 9 months later.
Provisional restoration for soft tissue contouring after 3 months, followed by definitive prosthesis delivery 2 months thereafter.
The 5-year follow-up demonstrated successful and stable bone augmentation, excellent aesthetic outcomes, and functional rehabilitation, confirming the long-term effectiveness of the applied GBR strategy.
