  • Title : Avoiding orthopedic (prosthetic/biomechanical) difficulties during full-arch rehabilitation with dental implants

  • Abstract : Seven implants were placed in the maxilla and six in the mandible. Immediate loading was performed using reinforced acrylic prostheses on multi-unit abutments. The definitive maxillary restoration consisted of a zirconia framework with e.max ceramic, while the mandible was initially restored with a provisional PMMA prosthesis on Ti-base abutments for a three-month adaptation period. During this period, the technicians utilized the natural chewing movements functionally registered on the PMMA prosthesis. Afterward, the provisional prosthesis was scanned and replaced with a CAD/CAMmilled definitive restoration consisting of a titanium bar, zirconia framework, and e.max ceramic. The final outcome demonstrated optimal occlusal contact between maxillary and mandibular zirconia restorations, reduced implant and temporomandibular joint loading, preservation of natural functional movements, and minimized risks of framework fracture, peri-implant bone resorption, and prosthetic complications.
