Participant Agreement for MEGA’MIND

Effective Date : From 24 May, 2025

This Participant Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation in MEGA’MIND ("the Program"). By registering for and participating in MEGA’MIND, you agree to the terms and conditions set forth below.

1. Eligibility

You confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements to participate in the Program and are legally authorized to participate. You are responsible for ensuring that your participation complies with all applicable laws and regulations

2. Submission of Materials

By submitting your presentation, clinical cases, patient information, photos, videos, or any other materials ("Materials") for the Program, you agree to the following

  • You are the sole author and owner of the Materials submitted

  • You have obtained all necessary consents, permissions, and rights for any clinical data, patient information, or images included in your submission

  • The Materials do not infringe upon any third-party rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, or privacy rights

3. Use of Clinical Data and Patient Information

By participating in the Program, you acknowledge and agree to the following

  • You have obtained the necessary consent from any patients whose information, images, or data are included in your Materials

  • You grant the Program organizers full rights to use, display, and distribute any clinical data, patient information, photos, videos, and other materials related to your participation, as described in the Privacy Policy

  • You understand that the Program organizers may use these Materials for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other marketing materials

4. Copyright and Ownership

You retain all copyrights to your original works (e.g. papers, presentations, and materials) submitted for the Program. However, by submitting your materials, you grant the Program organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, share, and distribute your Materials for the purposes of the Program, including promotional activities, event broadcasts, and online sharing. The Program organizers are not responsible for any copyright or intellectual property issues related to the Materials you submit
Submitted cases must not have been previously published in any journal or academic publication. Only original, unpublished cases are eligible for submission.

5. Social Media Usage

You acknowledge and agree that any clinical cases, images, or videos submitted by you as part of your participation may be freely used, shared, and distributed by the Program organizers across social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook) for promotional purposes. These materials may be publicly available and used without further consent or compensation

6. Liability and Indemnification

You agree to hold the Program organizers harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising from

  • Your submission of Materials that infringe upon the intellectual property rights or privacy of third parties

  • Any violation of the terms of this Agreement or the Privacy Policy.

  • Any use of your submitted Materials for promotional or public purposes, including distribution through social media platforms

You agree to indemnify and defend the Program organizers against any third-party claims arising from the breach of your representations, warranties, or obligations under this Agreement.

7. Publication and Copyright of Casebook

  • You acknowledge and agree that, following the conclusion of the Program, a casebook featuring selected clinical cases and presentations from the Program will be compiled and published by the Program organizers.

  • You grant the Program organizers the right to include your submitted content (clinical data, images, case descriptions, etc.) in the casebook and acknowledge that the copyright of the final publication will be fully owned by the organizers and MG NEWTON

  • Only participants whose final presentations at the National Round are 10 minutes or longer will be eligible for inclusion in the casebook. Cases presented for less than 10 minutes will be excluded from publication, regardless of quality or content

8. Program Structure and Rounds

The 15-Minute Presentation Tournament Program consists of three progressive stages :

  • National Round

  • Continental Round

  • Final Round

Participants advance through each round based on evaluations by a panel of judges designated by the Program organizers.

9. Awards and Benefits by Round

National Round Winners will receive :

  • A cash prize of USD 1,000, and

  • An invitation to participate in the appropriate Continental Round.

Continental Round Winners will receive :

  • A round-trip economy class flight from the winner’s place of residence to the Final Round venue (if applicable; not provided for local participants),

  • Accommodation during the Final Round event dates (if applicable; not provided for local participants),

  • Complimentary registration for the Mega’Gen International Symposium held in conjunction with the Final Round.

🔴 IMPORTANT: If a Continental Round winner is unable or unwilling to attend the Final Round in person, all the above-mentioned benefits will be considered forfeited, and no alternative form of compensation (monetary or otherwise) will be provided.

Final Round Winners (Grand Prize Winners) will receive:

  • A grand prize of USD 5,000,

  • An exclusive opportunity to deliver their winning Final Round presentation on the Main Podium at the Mega’Gen International Symposium,

  • A fully sponsored opportunity to participate in the prestigious MUST Training Program,

  • Appointment as a MINEC Knight

 

Each registration must be made under the name of a single individual. Any and all prizes associated with the competition will be awarded exclusively to the individual whose name appears on the official registration.

10. Program Modifications and Cancellations

The Program organizers reserve the right to modify, cancel, or reschedule the Program, including the dates, location, and format, at their sole discretion. If any changes are made, participants will be notified promptly.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Republic of South Korea. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement shall be resolved through a dispute resolution process (e.g. arbitration, mediation) in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Korea.

12. Acknowledgment and Consent

By registering for and participating in the Program, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Agreement, and you agree to abide by all of its terms and conditions. You also acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy, which governs how your personal information and Materials will be used.
